Roland Giduz Award for Community Service Announced
Bill Friday is first recipient of the annual Roland Giduz Award for Commnity Service
Bill Friday is the first recipient of the Roland Giduz Award for Community Service, given anually by the Harvard Club of the Research Triangle. The award was announced at the 2009 Holiday Open House on December 10, 2009. Joan Huntley, a long-time friend of the late Roland Giduz, accepted the award on behalf of Friday. Helen Giduz, widow of Roland Giduz, was in attendance. This award was inaugurated in 2008 when it was first awarded and named in honor of Roland Giduz, AB '59. For many years Giduz served on the board of the Harvard Club including a three-year term as president from 1991-1993. Giduz brought honor to Harvard and the club through his volunteer service to the greater community. In appreciation to Roland for his years of service to the club and to honor his spirit of community service, each year the HCRT Board of Directors will present this award in his memory.
